In Medias Res

Welcome! In medias res is a creative outlet where I post reviews, opinion pieces, and pretty much whatever might spark inspiration. Throughout university I found an overwhelming lack of creative expression within the syllabus. Studying English Literature and Philosophy I expected to have my imagination pushed, however, the structured essays and stifling mark schemes left me feeling restricted and often bored. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved my uni experience and found it incredibly valuable in many ways. But at the same time I found myself losing the passion I had for writing and that’s where this blog comes in.

So sit back, explore and hopefully get inspired. If you leave this website with a new book or film recommendation, a question or a new idea then my goal has been achieved.
